The role:

As a Senior Pharmacist within the North East Rehabilitation Service, you will deliver a high\-quality, patient\-centred clinical pharmacy service across community and primary care settings. Working autonomously as an independent prescriber, you will manage complex caseloads and support patients to achieve the best possible outcomes from their medicines. All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • You will be working between Petershill Park Business Centre, 28\-30 Adamswell Street, Glasgow, G21 4DD and Parkhead Hub, 1251 Duke Street, Glasgow, G31 5NZ

  • Part Time, Permanent

  • Working between Monday and Friday\- 18 hours per week
Key responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist clinical pharmacy care and independent prescribing for patients within the rehabilitation service

  • Undertake comprehensive medication reviews for patients with complex needs, co\-morbidities and frailty

  • Deliver expert advice to multidisciplinary teams to optimise prescribing, minimise risk and improve patient outcomes

  • Support medicines reconciliation and respond to prescribing queries ensuring safe and effective use of medicines

  • Contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives within primary care

  • Provide education, training and support to healthcare professionals, patients and carers on medicines use

  • Promote adherence to local and national prescribing guidelines and support cost\-effective prescribing practices
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
  • Master's degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent with current General Pharmaceutical Council registration

  • Independent prescriber qualification or willingness to work towards this

  • Post\-registration experience in a relevant clinical pharmacy setting with evidence of advanced clinical competence

  • Strong knowledge of clinical therapeutics, medicines legislation and safe prescribing practice

  • Experience of working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and influencing patient care decisions

  • Demonstrable involvement in audit, service improvement, education or training of healthcare staff

  • Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills with the ability to manage complex workloads and prioritise effectively
