Vacancy Details

The purpose of this role is to deliver code\-compliant, high\-quality structural steelwork solutions that meet client requirements, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget

Key Tasks \& Accountabilities

• Have a sound understanding of engineering principles


• Be able to work with external clients and internal stakeholders to produce practical design solutions


• Carry out structural analysis and design to produce calculations for building regulations submission


• Produce detailed design sketches to convey to draughtsperson with due regard to buildability and health \& safety


• Liaise with internal and external design teams to ensure that the design brief is clear, and a compliant design is produced


• Assess, design and clearly define temporary works requirements


• Ensure compliance with the company operating procedures, quality assurance, statutory safety legislation and our contractual responsibilities


• Take responsibility for all technical aspects of a project and provide assistance to junior engineers

• Extensive knowledge of structural steelwork design including complex solutions and temporary works solutions


• Experience in Design Management


• A good understanding of buildability issues on major construction sites as well as in the fabrication shop.

• Degree or Masters Degree in civil / structural engineering


• Preferably Chartered Structural Engineer MIStructE
