Senior Community Care Assistant

Are you a Senior Care Professional ready to step up and lead in the field? My Homecare Gloucester is looking for an experienced Senior Community Care Assistant to oversee care quality, supervise teams, and ensure exceptional service delivery in the community. This is a hands\-on leadership role for someone who thrives on autonomy, sound judgement, and making a real difference.
About the Role
Working alongside the Registered Manager and Deputy Care Managers, you will be the senior presence in the field—mentoring staff, monitoring quality, and stepping in to deliver care when needed. You'll assess competencies, support complex care packages, and serve as the first point of escalation for our Care Professionals. This role offers flexibility with full\-time or part\-time options, though you will need to work evenings, weekends, and participate in the on\-call Rota
.What You'll Do
- Deliver high\-quality, person\-centered care in line with individual care plans
- Supervise, mentor, and coach Care Professionals through shadow shifts, observations, and spot checks
- Support complex and higher\-risk care packages
- Complete competency assessments and sign off new starters during induction
- Act as the visible senior lead and first point of escalation in the community
- Identify, manage, and escalate safeguarding, medication, and quality concerns
- Provide out\-of\-hours advice and decision\-making support as part of the on\-call Rota
✔ Currently working as a Senior Care Professional
✔ Minimum 1 year of experience in domiciliary care
✔ Proven ability to supervise staff and assess competence in practice
✔ Strong understanding of care plans, medication support, safeguarding, and CQC standards
✔ Confidence working independently in the community with sound decision\-making skills
✔ Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on\-call this is not a 9\-to\-5 role
✔ Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
