SEND Playworker

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Playworker to join our team, providing engaging and supportive activities for children with special educational needs and disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for childcare, with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives through play and development, working closely with families and professionals to support individual needs.

Duties

• Facilitate play sessions tailored to the needs of children with SEND, encouraging socialisation and skill development


• Support children during activities, ensuring their safety and well\-being at all times


• Assist with behavioural management strategies in line with individual care plans


• Maintain accurate records of activities, progress, and any incidents or concerns


• Promote inclusive participation in all activities, adapting approaches as necessary for each child's abilities


• Foster a nurturing environment that encourages independence, confidence, and enjoyment

• Previous experience working with children in childcare, nannying, teaching, or similar roles is highly desirable but not required


• Experience supporting children with special educational needs or disabilities is advantageous


• Knowledge of child development principles and behaviour management techniques is beneficial


• A caring attitude combined with patience, creativity, and organisational skills are vital for success in this role
