Presidential Travel Ltd is looking for caring, reliable and responsible SEND Passenger Assistants to join our school transport team.

We provide home\-to\-school transport for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). As a Passenger Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the welfare, safety and wellbeing of students while travelling.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys helping children, has a calm and patient manner, and wants to make a positive difference to their daily school journey.

The role

  • Accompany SEND students on home\-to\-school transport.

  • Support students when boarding and leaving the vehicle, where required.

  • Ensure students remain safe, comfortable and appropriately supervised throughout the journey.

  • Provide reassurance and encouragement in a calm, respectful manner.

  • Be attentive to students’ individual needs and any agreed support arrangements.

  • Communicate appropriately with parents, schools, drivers and the transport team.

  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and student welfare procedures.

  • Report any concerns or incidents in accordance with company policy.
Specialist training

Depending on the needs of the students on your allocated route, you may be required to complete relevant training, which could include:

  • Asthma awareness

  • Epilepsy awareness

  • Challenging behaviour awareness

  • Other student\-specific SEND or welfare training, where appropriate.

What we are looking for

  • A caring, patient and responsible approach.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to remain calm and professional in different situations.

  • An understanding of the importance of safeguarding and student welfare.

  • Previous experience working with children, SEND students, education, care or support services is desirable but not essential.

  • Enhanced DBS clearance, or willingness to undergo the required checks.
Hours and pay
  • Average 25 hours per week

  • Earning opportunity: approximately £325 per week

  • Term\-time school transport work.

  • Split\-shift working, generally involving morning and afternoon school journeys.
