Job summary
The IT Asset Manager within the Technology Division, is responsible for leading the effective management and governance of the organisations IT assets, ensuring hardware, software and associated technology assets are accurately tracked, controlled, maintained and managed throughout their lifecycle. The role provides effective asset management to support operational delivery, regulatory compliance, security and value for money.
The postholder will lead the IT Asset Management team, ensuring high standards of service delivery, continuous improvement and effective engagement with stakeholders across the organisation.
The organisations physical IT assets are managed and stored on\-site; therefore, the role is based in Bootle and requires a hands\-on approach to asset control, inventory management, secure equipment handling and collaboration with operational teams. Due to the operational nature and responsibilities of the role, it is a full\-time position.
Due to the nature of the responsibilities, this role is only suitable for full\-time working.
Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and line management for the IT Asset Management team, supporting recruitment, performance management, training, and professional development.
- Lead the end\-to\-end lifecycle management of IT assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal, ensuring accurate and compliant asset records are maintained within ServiceNow.
- Monitor and report on asset performance, utilisation, compliance, and inventory status, producing regular management information and dashboards for stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Drive continuous improvement in asset management processes, controls, and governance to support organisational objectives and digital transformation initiatives.
- Provide asset management expertise to projects and programmes, supporting planning, forecasting, and data\-driven decision\-making.
- Lead asset audits, stock reconciliations, and assurance activities, identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain data accuracy and compliance.

Essential Skills and Criteria
- Working knowledge of ITIL service management processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Release and Configuration Management, and knowledge of IT asset lifecycle management, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, tracking and disposal.
- Experience of leading, managing, and developing staff, with a strong focus on team engagement and performance.
- Practical application of IT Service Management and IT Asset Management within a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in using ServiceNow and Microsoft Office applications to manage records, reporting, and service processes.
- Effective attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with organisational policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
