Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Support Advisor to provide specialised support within our nursery settings for children with special educational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with our children, staff and families to foster an inclusive learning environment. This role involves assisting children with SEND, and those requiring tailored educational approaches. The ideal applicant will possess excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to supporting diverse learners.
Responsibilities
- Support children with special educational needs, including those with autism and disabilities, within our Early Years settings
- Assist staff in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and behavioural strategies
- Provide personalised support to children with additional needs, fostering their social and emotional development
- Facilitate communication between children, staff, and families to ensure consistent support
- Assist with care activities, promoting developmental milestones through engaging activities
- Observe and record progress and learning outcomes to inform ongoing support strategies
- Create a safe, nurturing environment that encourages participation and confidence among children
- Support the organisation of inclusive activities that cater to diverse learning requirements
- Full and Relevant Level 3 in Early Years
- Full and Relevant Level 3 SENCO in Early Years
- Experience in supporting children within special education settings is advantageous
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams are essential
Licence/Certification:
- Level 3 in Early Years (required)
- Level 3 SENCO in Early Years (preferred)
