Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Seasonal Ecologist to join our team during the peak survey season. This role is ideal for individuals seeking to gain hands\-on experience in ecological fieldwork and contribute to impactful environmental projects. The successful candidate will support various ecological surveys, data collection, and reporting tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a variety of ecological surveys, including Phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species surveys (e.g., bats, amphibians, reptiles, birds), and Preliminary Ecological Appraisals.
- Assist in drafting survey reports, impact assessments, and recommendations for mitigation and conservation strategies.
- Work closely with other ecologists and project managers to ensure project deliverables are met on time and to a high standard.
- A degree or equivalent in an Environmental Science subject, or demonstration or relevant alternative experience.
- Previous experience in ecological fieldwork, including species identification and survey techniques, is preferred.
- Proven and demonstrable experience undertaking environmental surveys
- Experience working within an ecological consultancy.
- A valid UK driving license and use of a vehicle is essential, along with the willingness to travel to various field sites.
- Ability to stay away from home for short periods ( up to 3 nights) for work throughout the UK (hotel expenses all paid for).
