Hours: 27\.5 hours per week, term time, 39 weeks per year.

Work Pattern: Monday \- Friday

Salary / Hourly Rate: £13\.80 \- £14\.83 per hour.

To meet the needs of pupils who require support beyond that provided by their Class Teacher or Early Years Key Worker, we offer a flexible role that enables School Support Assistants to work collaboratively as a team and respond to the changing needs of pupils and schools. The role is dynamic and varied, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach.

Supporting Pupils within Additional Support Needs

Provide in‑class and out‑of‑class support for pupils with complex needs, including medical needs and personal care as outlined in Health Care Plans.

  • Administer medication and offer physical and emotional support for vulnerable pupils, including those who are non‑verbal or have needs related to ASD, attachment, or communication.

  • Undertake relevant training (e.g., moving and assisting) as required.

  • Provide nurturing and calm support within the school environment.

  • Contribute to supervision in shared areas during intervals and lunchtimes, promoting independence and the school’s values.
