Sales Manager – Industrial Power Market

Location: Hybrid (Clitheroe based once a week) National Travel

Salary: Circa £65,000 Negotiable depending on experience

Bryden Precision Engineering (BPE) is a leading precision engineering and manufacturing company, delivering high\-quality machined components and engineered solutions to customers operating in demanding industrial sectors.

As part of our continued growth strategy, we are investing in our commercial team and are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive business development within the Industrial Power market. This is a pivotal role focused on securing new business with Tier 1 contractors, OEMs and major industrial organisations, helping to expand BPE's presence across the UK and international markets.

The Opportunity

This is a genuine new business development role for a commercially driven individual with a proven track record of winning business within precision engineering or advanced manufacturing.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging and securing new customer accounts with Tier 1 organisations and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) operating within the Industrial Power sector.

Working closely with engineering, estimating and manufacturing teams, you will develop tailored engineering solutions that meet customer requirements while delivering sustainable growth for the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on the Industrial Power market.

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities with Tier 1 contractors, OEMs and major industrial organisations.

  • Build strong relationships with engineering, procurement, sourcing and commercial decision\-makers.

  • Generate and qualify new sales opportunities through market research, networking, customer visits and industry events.

  • Develop long\-term sales pipelines and convert opportunities into profitable customer accounts.

  • Lead commercial discussions, contract negotiations and pricing strategies in collaboration with the Head of Commercial.

  • Prepare professional quotations, tenders and technical proposals with support from engineering and estimating teams.

  • Promote Bryden Precision Engineering's capabilities across precision machining, complex manufacturing and engineered solutions.

  • Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure successful project delivery and exceptional customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and pipeline reports.

  • Monitor competitor activity, market trends and emerging opportunities within Industrial Power.

  • Represent Bryden Precision Engineering at trade exhibitions, conferences and customer events.

  • Achieve agreed revenue, margin and new account acquisition targets.

Success in this role will be measured through:

  • New Tier 1 customer acquisitions.

Skills \& Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in business development or technical sales within precision engineering, CNC machining or advanced manufacturing.

  • Demonstrable success in winning new business with Tier 1 organisations and OEMs.

  • Strong understanding of the Industrial Power market

  • Experience selling complex engineered or manufactured solutions rather than catalogue products.

  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to develop relationships with procurement, engineering and senior management teams.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills.

  • Highly self\-motivated with a proactive approach to generating opportunities.

  • Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel
Desirable
  • Engineering qualification or technical manufacturing background.

  • Experience working within regulated industries including power generation, nuclear, renewables or industrial process.

  • Knowledge of machining technologies, precision components and manufacturing processes.

  • Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools.

  • Existing network of contacts within the Industrial Power sector.
