Sales and Estimating

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail\-oriented Sales and Estimating professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sending quotes \& processing sales orders by e\-mail and telephone. This role offers an excellent opportunity to progress as the MD is looking to working part time in the next few years and the successful candidate will be trained to take on some of these duties eventually.

Duties

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects based on client specifications and company standards


• Collaborate with the sales team to identify client needs and develop tailored proposals


• Maintain up\-to\-date knowledge of industry pricing, materials, and labour costs


• Assist in developing sales strategies to expand the company's market reach


• Build and nurture relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams


• Support the preparation of tender documents and bid submissions


• Provide ongoing support for sales presentations and negotiations

Skills

• Proven experience in sales or estimating within the Builders/Timber Merchants industry


• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client engagement


• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications


• Sound understanding of cost control principles to optimise project profitability


• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations


• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast\-paced environment

Pay: £38,000\.00\-£45,000\.00 per year
