Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, professional, and customer\-focused Retail Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering furniture safely and efficiently to customers' homes while providing an exceptional level of customer service.
As the main person responsible for the delivery process, you will ensure that all items are delivered in a timely manner, assembled where required, and handled with care. You will communicate any customer queries, issues, damages, or complaints to the Store Managers or Senior Management team promptly and professionally. Also, be required to lead the driver's mate, and manage them and their peformance.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in furniture delivery, commercial driving, or customer\-facing delivery services to utilise their skills within a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles, including vans, to deliver furniture to customers' homes.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled delivery times.
- Load and unload furniture carefully, ensuring all items are protected from damage during transportation.
- Carry out deliveries in a professional and courteous manner, representing the company positively at all times.
- Assemble furniture in customers' homes where this forms part of the delivery service.
- Check all items prior to loading to ensure the correct products are being delivered and that they are free from obvious defects or damage.
- Obtain customer signatures and complete all delivery documentation accurately.
- Communicate any customer concerns, delivery issues, damages, or complaints to Store Managers or Senior Management as soon as possible.
- Maintain the cleanliness, presentation, and safety of company vehicles.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, health and safety procedures, and company policies.
- Report any vehicle defects, maintenance requirements, accidents, or incidents promptly.
- Assist with general warehouse duties when required, including preparing orders for delivery and maintaining an organised warehouse environment.
- Previous experience in furniture delivery, retail delivery driving, or commercial driving.
- Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently whilst also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage delivery schedules efficiently.
- Understanding of road safety regulations and safe manual handling practices.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and manoeuvring heavy furniture items on a daily basis.
- Experience assembling flat\-pack or pre\-built furniture.
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Experience working in a customer\-facing environment.
- A valid CPC qualification (if applicable to the vehicle type operated).
