Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to provide compassionate care and support to children and young people within a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing environment, promoting positive development, and ensuring the well\-being of residents. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals while developing valuable skills in childcare and support services.

Duties

  • Assist children and young people with daily activities, including personal care and organisation of routines.

  • Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Support residents in participating in educational, recreational, and social activities to promote their development.

  • Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and other relevant documentation.

  • Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support.

  • Drive residents safely to appointments or activities as required.

  • Monitor behaviour and intervene appropriately to promote positive conduct and emotional well\-being.

  • Contribute to a safe environment by adhering to health and safety policies and safeguarding procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people in a care or support setting is desirable.

  • Valid driving licence with the ability to drive residents safely when needed.

  • Knowledge of child development and childcare practices.

  • Ability to develop and follow personalised care plans tailored to individual needs.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build trusting relationships.

  • Proficiency in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.

  • Compassionate, patient, organised, and committed to providing high\-quality support.

  • Flexibility to work shifts as required within a supportive team environment. This position offers an enriching opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting children’s growth whilst gaining valuable experience within the social care sector.
Pay: From £24,420\.00 per year
