Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to provide compassionate care and support to children and young people within a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing environment, promoting positive development, and ensuring the well\-being of residents. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals while developing valuable skills in childcare and support services.
Duties
- Assist children and young people with daily activities, including personal care and organisation of routines.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Support residents in participating in educational, recreational, and social activities to promote their development.
- Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and other relevant documentation.
- Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support.
- Drive residents safely to appointments or activities as required.
- Monitor behaviour and intervene appropriately to promote positive conduct and emotional well\-being.
- Contribute to a safe environment by adhering to health and safety policies and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience working with children or young people in a care or support setting is desirable.
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive residents safely when needed.
- Knowledge of child development and childcare practices.
- Ability to develop and follow personalised care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build trusting relationships.
- Proficiency in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.
- Compassionate, patient, organised, and committed to providing high\-quality support.
