Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to provide high\-quality care and support to children and young people within a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing environment, promoting personal development, and assisting with daily activities. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives through personalised support and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Offer emotional and practical support to children and young people, ensuring their wellbeing is prioritised at all times
- Assist with daily routines including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational activities
- Implement and follow individualised care plans to meet each child's specific needs and goals
- Facilitate engaging activities that promote social skills, independence, and self\-confidence
- Support children in developing life skills such as communication, organisation, and self\-care
- Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and any concerns in accordance with organisational policies
- Drive children to appointments, activities, or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to deliver consistent support
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive safely and responsibly
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members
- Knowledge of child development principles and experience in developing or following care plans
- Good IT skills for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Compassionate attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Flexibility to work shifts as required; some roles may involve unsociable hours or weekend work depending on organisational needs
Pay: From £24,403\.20 per year
