Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to provide high\-quality care and support to children and young people within a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing environment, promoting personal development, and assisting with daily activities. Responsibilities

  • Offer emotional and practical support to children and young people, ensuring their wellbeing is prioritised at all times

  • Assist with daily routines including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational activities

  • Implement and follow individualised care plans to meet each child's specific needs and goals

  • Facilitate engaging activities that promote social skills, independence, and self\-confidence

  • Support children in developing life skills such as communication, organisation, and self\-care

  • Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and any concerns in accordance with organisational policies

  • Drive children to appointments, activities, or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to deliver consistent support
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable

  • Valid driving licence with the ability to drive safely and responsibly

  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members

  • Knowledge of child development principles and experience in developing or following care plans

  • Good IT skills for record keeping and reporting purposes

  • Compassionate attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Flexibility to work shifts as required; some roles may involve unsociable hours or weekend work depending on organisational needs
