Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing personalised therapy programmes to support patients in regaining independence and improving their quality of life. This role offers an opportunity to work within a supportive environment, making a meaningful difference in patients' recovery journeys. Working with children from the ages of 11\- 16 in a SEN Specialist chool setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities to determine individual needs.
- Develop tailored treatment plans aimed at improving daily living skills and functional independence.
- Implement therapeutic interventions using evidence\-based practices, including exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques.
- Monitor patient progress regularly and adjust treatment programmes accordingly to optimise outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on strategies to manage conditions and enhance daily functioning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in occupational therapy through continuous professional development.
- A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy (Degree or equivalent).
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or relevant regulatory body.
- Prior experience working with diverse patient groups is desirable but not essential; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
