BKY Care is seeking an experienced and committed Registered Manager to lead the day\-to\-day operation of our children’s residential home in Sutton Coldfield. You will provide strong, child\-centred leadership, support and develop the staff team, and ensure consistently high standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.
The role
- Lead the effective day\-to\-day running of the home, take responsibility for the premises and undertake direct work with children when required.
- Ensure the home meets legislative, contractual and inspection framework requirements, including the Quality Standards and SCCIF.
- Safeguard and promote the wellbeing, health, education and development of the children and young people, including support with complex behaviour, crisis intervention and positive routines.
- Provide visible leadership, allocate work, complete regular supervisions, coach and develop the staff team, and support safe recruitment and workforce planning.
- Work closely with specialist agencies and other professionals to coordinate appropriate plans, programmes and support.
- Maintain accurate records, effective handovers and clear communication with the Responsible Individual and Directors; manage budgets and resources responsibly; contribute to quality assurance reporting; and participate fully in the on\-call rota.
You will be a confident, compassionate leader who is passionate about improving the lives of children in care. You will also have:
- At least two years’ experience in a role related to residential care of children, including at least one year in a supervisory role within the last five years.
- A Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Children’s Residential Care, which is essential.
- A Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or working towards your qualification.
- A sound understanding of the Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of trauma and the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including experience of managing challenging behaviour.
- Strong planning, organisation, budget management, resource allocation and team leadership skills.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
Pay: £45,000\.00\-£60,000\.00 per year
