Goole Recycling Facility \| Full\-time, permanent \| £12\.71 per hour
MYGroup is looking for a reliable, practical Recycling Operative to join our Goole Recycling Facility. This is a hands\-on role supporting the Boots packaging recycling scheme, helping ensure material is received, sorted and prepared accurately for onward recycling.
The role is based at our Goole site and involves mixed cosmetic packaging and blister\-pack material delivered in bags within wheeled cages. You will need to work carefully, safely and accurately in a busy operational environment.
Role details
Location: MYGroup Goole Recycling Facility, Jerry Lane, Goole, DN14 8BJ
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm, with occasional overtime as required.
Pay: £12\.71 per hour.
Reporting to: Operations Management.
What you will be doing
- Receiving and safely unloading wheeled cages from delivery vehicles.
- Counting and recording bags and material types accurately.
- Separating blister\-pack material for transfer to our Hull treatment facility.
- Opening and hand\-sorting mixed packaging to remove contamination.
- Identifying and segregating unsuitable items, including soft plastics, metal, glass, batteries, aerosols, WEEE, razors, sharps and leaking containers.
- Bulking suitable material into IBCs and other approved containers.
- Preparing containers, cages and IBCs for onward transport.
- Keeping stock records, bag counts, labels and paperwork accurate and up to date.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised sorting and storage area.
- Reporting damaged bags, spills, suspect materials and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Supporting wider recycling, yard and housekeeping duties when required.
You will be dependable, safety\-conscious and comfortable in a busy recycling and yard environment. You must be able to work accurately during repetitive sorting tasks and take pride in keeping standards high.
Essential requirements
- Experience in recycling, waste, warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, production or a similar hands\-on environment.
- Able to carry out physical work and manual handling safely.
- Good attention to detail and basic numeracy for counts and records.
- Able to follow procedures, site rules and management instructions.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Comfortable handling bags, wheeled cages, containers and IBCs.
- Willing to wear PPE and work safely around mixed packaging materials.
- Forklift truck licence or previous FLT experience.
- Experience loading or unloading curtainsider vehicles.
- Experience on a recycling sorting line or permitted waste site.
- Familiarity with waste segregation, contamination control or stock paperwork.
- Permanent full\-time employment.
- Full training, including site safety, manual handling, sorting criteria and environmental procedures.
- PPE provided.
- A practical role with clear responsibility in an established recycling operation.
This is a physical recycling and sorting role involving regular manual handling, movement of wheeled cages and IBCs, unloading and loading of curtainsider vehicles, repetitive hand sorting, and work in indoor and outdoor operational areas. PPE will be provided. All work must be carried out in line with MYGroup site rules, safe working procedures and environmental controls.
