About the role
We are looking for a proactive and practical Property and Compliance Assistant to support the effective day\-to\-day operation of our corporate offices, hubs and commercial buildings.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager – Corporate Buildings, you will help ensure facilities services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard. You will coordinate facilities activities, support compliance requirements, respond to building\-related issues and undertake minor repairs and inspections within your level of training and competence.
This is a varied role that requires excellent organisational skills, technical awareness and a customer\-focused approach. Your contribution will help create safe, functional and welcoming workplaces that support colleague wellbeing, business continuity and organisational performance.
What You’ll Be Doing
As our Property and Compliance Assistant, you'll:
- Support the delivery of facilities management services across corporate offices, hubs and commercial buildings, ensuring properties remain safe, functional and fit for purpose.
- Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring issues are logged, monitored and resolved efficiently.
- Act as a point of contact for contractors and trade operatives, providing support and knowledge of building operations and services.
- Carry out regular health and safety inspections and checks, including:
+ Fire equipment inspections
+ Fire door checks
+ Water hygiene monitoring
+ Security inspections
+ Other facilities\-related compliance checks
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities and compliance requirements.
- Conduct plant room and boiler room inspections, undertaking remedial tasks where appropriately trained and authorised.
- Support compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, ensuring organisational policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve building safety, efficiency and service delivery.
You will have:
- Experience within facilities management, building operations, caretaking or a similar environment.
- The ability to safely undertake minor repairs and practical maintenance tasks within defined competency limits.
- A good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Confidence communicating with colleagues, customers, contractors and stakeholders.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and using digital systems.
- A willingness to undertake further training and continuous professional development, particularly in health and safety and compliance\-related areas.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
