Project Manager

Location: Fleetwood
Working pattern: Monday–Friday \| Hybrid, with regular travel between Ruby Energy offices
Salary: Up to £40,000
Contract: Permanent

About Ruby Energy
At Ruby Energy, we’re more than just an energy supplier. We’re a growing, commercially driven business helping UK SMEs manage their energy needs through flexible solutions and exceptional customer service.
Established in 2002, we’ve built our reputation on understanding our customers, responding quickly to market changes and finding the right solutions for their businesses.
As we continue to grow and evolve, we’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Change \& Delivery function and take ownership of a range of important business projects.
This is a role for someone who can take a project, understand what needs to happen, bring the right people together and drive it forward.

The Role
As Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing projects from initiation through to successful delivery, working closely with stakeholders across the business including Development, Regulatory, Operations and other key functions.
We’re looking for a confident, self\-starting PM who doesn’t need to be heavily managed from a project management perspective. You’ll be trusted to establish the approach, build the plan, manage timelines and dependencies, identify risks and issues, and keep everyone focused on delivery.

You’ll also play an important role in helping the business understand its current processes, identify opportunities for improvement and deliver effective solutions that support Ruby Energy’s wider objectives.

What You'll Be Doing
Lead projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and to the required quality standards.
Develop and maintain clear project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies and deliverables.
Work with multiple departments and stakeholders to coordinate activity and keep projects moving.
Identify, manage and mitigate project risks, issues and dependencies.
Provide clear and regular project updates to stakeholders and senior management.
Facilitate project meetings and ensure actions are owned and followed through.
Gather business requirements and translate business needs into clear project deliverables and functional specifications.
Work closely with Development, Regulatory and other technical and operational teams, acting as a strong voice for the business.
Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement and efficiencies.
Support the development of business cases and future\-state processes and systems.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including RAID logs, project plans, status reports and other key project documentation.
Apply appropriate Agile and project management methodologies to deliver successful outcomes.
Manage multiple projects and priorities within a fast\-paced, changing environment.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager who is comfortable taking ownership and making things happen.
You'll ideally have:
5\+ years' project management experience, ideally gained within a fast\-paced, regulated or highly governed industry.
A proven track record of successfully delivering projects from initiation through to completion.
Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies and best practice.
Experience using JIRA — this is an important requirement for the role.
Experience working across multiple business functions, ideally including Development/Technology and Regulatory teams.
The ability to confidently manage timelines, budgets, scope, risks, issues, dependencies and competing priorities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to quickly build credibility and trust.
A self\-starting approach — you should be comfortable being handed a new project and determining how best to take it forward with minimal PM methodology guidance.
Strong organisational and problem\-solving skills.
Experience with Agile ways of working.
Business analysis, process improvement or change delivery experience would be advantageous.
A recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or PMP is desirable, although strong practical experience is equally important.
Experience within energy, utilities, sales or contact centre environments would be beneficial.
A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport, as regular travel between our Fleetwood offices is required.
Location \& Working Pattern

This role is based in Fleetwood and the surrounding areas. Being able to regularly work across our Fleetwood offices is an essential part of the position.
Once fully embedded within the business, the anticipated working pattern will be approximately:
1 day at Parkside (FY7\)
1 day at Memorial (FY7\)
1 day at Poolfoot (FY5\)
2 days working from home
The exact pattern may flex depending on project requirements and business needs.
Due to the location of our offices and the need to travel between them, a driving licence is essential.
