Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plant Fitter/Fabricator to join our dynamic waste management team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining plant equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Your expertise will help keep our facilities running smoothly, supporting production processes and safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of tools, mechanical systems, and electrical components in a fast\-paced environment dedicated to excellence.

Duties

  • Fabricate and assemble metal and mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques

  • Read and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, and engineering drawings to guide assembly and repairs

  • Perform welding tasks including arc welding, MIG, or TIG welding to repair or create parts as needed

  • Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on plant equipment such as shredders, conveyors, and other machinery

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions

  • Repair or replace damaged parts using appropriate fabrication methods and equipment repair techniques

  • Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment such as cranes or hoists while adhering to safety protocols
Experience
  • Proven experience in fabrication, welding (arc, MIG, TIG)

  • Strong electrical knowledge combined with mechanical skills for troubleshooting machinery

  • Hands\-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and equipment repair in an industrial or manufacturing setting

  • Familiarity with operating heavy machinery such as Telehandlers and forklifts is highly desirable

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during assembly or repair tasks

  • Excellent problem\-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance and equipment troubleshooting
