Power Transmission \& Distribution

We’re looking for a Project Engineer – Cabling to join our growing Power T\&D team to support increasing demand across DNO North projects in South Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering critical infrastructure schemes while developing your career within a leading Tier 1 contractor.

As a Project Engineer, you’ll work closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team to support the safe and successful delivery of cabling projects from planning through to commissioning and handover.
You’ll take ownership of engineering solutions, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards

What you'll be doing

  • Support the planning, design and delivery of cabling works across South Yorkshire schemes

  • Translate engineering designs into safe, deliverable site solutions

  • Manage subcontractors and ensure works progress in line with programme

  • Maintain accurate records, reports and project documentation

  • Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety \& Environmental standards and promote a Zero Harm culture

  • Assist with risk management, including identifying and mitigating project risks

  • Support procurement, resource planning and materials management

  • Monitor programme, costs and quality performance across your work packages
Who we're looking for
  • Experience in a Project Engineer role within utilities, cabling or civil engineering

  • Knowledge of delivering projects safely and managing site operations

  • Strong understanding of risk, change management and project controls

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non\-technical stakeholders

  • Strong organisational and problem\-solving skills with a proactive approach
Desirable:
  • Relevant engineering or construction qualification (or equivalent experience)

  • CSCS and SMSTS

  • Experience within DNO / power distribution / cabling projects
