About the Role
------------------

We are looking for a Project Commissioning Engineer to take ownership of the commissioning phase of complex automation and machinery projects. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering commissioning activities from production handover through to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to customer expectations.

Working closely with Mechanical, Production, Software, and Project Management teams, you will drive commissioning activities to successful completion while managing resources, resolving issues, and maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

This is a full time position.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage all commissioning activities from production handover to final customer acceptance.


• Ensure machines meet specifications and successfully pass FAT and SAT on time and first time.


• Develop and maintain commissioning schedules, resource plans, and progress reports.


• Lead daily commissioning reviews, proactively identifying and resolving issues that could impact delivery.


• Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Mechanical, and Software teams to ensure commissioning requirements are considered throughout the project.


• Coordinate commissioning activities at customer sites, including logistics, technical support, and resource allocation.


• Manage commissioning budgets and ensure cost\-effective delivery without compromising quality.


• Maintain safe working practices and ensure relevant risk assessments are completed.


• Act as a key customer contact during commissioning, managing expectations and securing final SAT sign\-off.


• Communicate project progress, risks, and actions to stakeholders and senior leadership.

Essential

• Proven commissioning engineering experience within automation, manufacturing, special purpose machinery, or industrial systems.


• Strong understanding of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).


• Experience leading commissioning projects and coordinating cross\-functional engineering teams.


• Excellent project planning, organisational, and problem\-solving skills.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive actions through to completion.


• Strong customer\-facing and communication skills.


• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and software engineering documentation.


• Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project planning tools.


• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.

Desirable

• Experience commissioning automation or industrial machinery systems.


• Knowledge of PLCs, control systems, HMI software, and automation platforms.


• Project Management qualification or certification.


• Understanding of ISO 9001 and relevant health and safety regulations.


• Experience working across multiple sites or international projects.


• Familiarity with risk management and commissioning software tools.

• FAT completed successfully and on schedule.


• SAT achieved with timely customer sign\-off.


• Commissioning projects delivered safely, on time, and within budget.


• Effective utilisation of commissioning resources.


• Strong collaboration across engineering and project teams.


• High levels of customer satisfaction and successful project delivery.
