Production Planner
We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Production Planner to join our team. This is a key role responsible for creating and managing production schedules that balance customer demand with available manufacturing capacity.
You will work closely with production, purchasing, warehouse, and sales teams to ensure materials, resources, and capacity are aligned to achieve on\-time delivery. A critical part of the role is identifying potential production issues before they arise and taking proactive steps to minimise disruption. You will also communicate directly with customers and internal stakeholders when changes or challenges occur.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain production schedules to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
- Plan production activities in line with available labour, machinery, and material capacity.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules where required.
- Identify and resolve potential bottlenecks, material shortages, and capacity constraints before they impact delivery performance.
- Liaise with customers regarding order status, delivery dates, and any potential delays.
- Work closely with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure material availability.
- Collaborate with production and operational teams to maximise efficiency and optimise throughput.
- Maintain accurate planning data within ERP/MRP systems.
- Produce planning reports and provide regular updates on production performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within planning and scheduling processes.
- Previous experience in a Production Planning, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Operations environment.
- Strong planning, organisational, and time management skills.
- Excellent problem\-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast\-paced environment.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build effective relationships with customers and colleagues.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive approach with the ability to anticipate issues and implement solutions.
- Strong IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel.
