Initial 6 month contract with a view to a permanent position.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be helping to make tea, coffee and chocolate products supported by the guidance and supervision of experienced members of the production team. Teamwork is key, you will be part of a small production team and this means getting involved, working together, and caring for your teammates.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Adjusting, monitoring, and maintaining roasting, packing, and filling equipment to ensure correct operation, following training.

  • Identifying and implementing improvements to operational efficiency.

  • Following cleaning and maintenance schedules, and logging machine actions, service requirements, and breakdowns accurately.

  • Inspecting finished goods on schedule, ensuring output meets agreed standards, and troubleshooting and rectifying any defects.

  • Meeting agreed output goals to fulfil delivery and order requirements.

  • Maintaining accurate production records and documentation on Oracle, including asset effectiveness data and daily activity such as changeovers and breakdowns.

  • Informing managers of potential production gains or losses.

  • Following Safe Systems of Work, wearing appropriate PPE, and maintaining a 'Clean as You Go' approach to reduce risk of injury to self and others.

  • Operating roasting and filling/bagging machinery safely, subject to suitable training.

  • Training on new equipment and techniques and supporting and monitoring the progress of new starters as required.

  • Adopting a continuous improvement approach to all processes and procedures.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment; coffee roasting and filling/bagging machine experience is beneficial.

  • Working knowledge of basic food hygiene, quality systems, and industry safety standards.

  • Computer competent, comfortable using systems such as Oracle to enter data, track inventory, and maintain records.

  • Physically fit, with the ability to carry out repetitive, detail\-oriented tasks to a consistent standard.

  • Organised and reliable, with good timekeeping and the ability to work effectively with limited supervision.

  • A positive, resourceful team player with good communication skills who takes initiative and pride in their work.
Pay: From £26,000\.00 per year
