Overview
*Production Operative who will start off by learning different aspects within our production facility in Wick which will includes using various machines as well as day to day tasks and activities. This role can by physically demanding so the right applicant must be physically fit and be able to carry out manual work. Candidates will be responsible for completing daily check sheets, housekeeping and reporting any defects to the factor leading hands and maintenance team. Must be hard working, team player, loyal and a good timekeeper and not be afraid to get dirty while carrying out their role. Personal laundered Uniforms are provided after 3 months until this point standard full PPE is provided. Any successful candidates will be required to undertake a drug and alcohol screening test prior to commencement of employment. This is due to the use of heavy plant and machinery. All training will be provided but experience with overhead cranes would be a bonus. This role will have an immediate start for the right candidate.*

Responsibilities

  • Comply at all times with Health and Safety rules and procedures maintaining a positive health and safety culture.

  • To work effectively and efficiently to a high level, to achieve daily production requirements to the quality standards required

  • To be proactive and flexible in providing assistance with operational requirements

  • To complete all relevant documentation as required ensuring compliance with systems

  • Embrace training and development to enable multi skilled working.

  • Ensure equipment you use to perform your role is maintained and cleaned to a high standard reporting any issues that may affect production levels or their safe use

  • Generate improvement ideas to develop the site to produce a more efficient product.

  • Be open to feedback from line management and/or colleagues in order to improve personal and company standards in all areas.

  • Maintain a high standards of hygiene when using site facilities

  • Follow the concept of ‘get it right first time’

  • Carry out all other reasonable duties as required by your line manager and that are commensurate with the nature of your job.

  • Maintain and where possible improve site health and safety standards using recognised reporting procedures.

  • To work in accordance with procedures across the site.

  • To attend work as required by your employment contract including overtime where agreed. Absence policy to be followed at all times.

  • To work as a team member to achieve Company and site goals.
Experience
  • Labour Intensive: 2 years (required)

  • Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment
