Primary Engineer is a creative, dynamic, purpose\-led not\-for\-profit that places engineering at the heart of Primary education and beyond.

Our vision as a not\-for\-profit company is to embed engineering into the fabric of every school, ensuring all children have the opportunity to engage with engineering from a young age.

We're looking for an organised, proactive, and commercially minded Production Manager to lead our production planning, supply chain, purchasing, inventory management, and operational reporting, while providing first\-line support for hardware, systems, and technology across the business.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being the person who keeps everything connected, organised, and moving forward, who enjoys bringing order to complexity, solving problems, improving processes, and making things happen.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Planning production activities to meet customer demand

  • Managing suppliers, purchasing, and stock levels

  • Coordinating deliveries and ensuring products are available when needed

  • Monitoring operational performance and producing management reports

  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and value for money

  • Supporting the development and continuous improvement of ERP/MRP systems and processes

  • Providing first\-line support for hardware, devices, and business systems, whilst working with external IT partners to maintain reliable technology and network services

  • Supporting the continued growth and development of the business through effective operational management
What we offer:
  • Salary of £40,000 per annum

  • 29 days holiday, including bank holidays, increasing with service

  • Full\-time role, 37\.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm

What We're Looking For
  • Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills

  • Experience in operations, purchasing, supplier management, inventory, or supply chain activities

  • Comfortable working with suppliers, stock levels, spreadsheets, and business systems

  • Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem\-solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to improving processes

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 skills; experience with ERP systems would be advantageous

  • The person colleagues turn to when technology isn't behaving. You enjoy solving problems and have a bit of an IT geek streak, with an interest in hardware, networks, devices, and how systems fit together

  • Excellent communication and relationship\-building skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and take ownership of outcomes
