As part of our growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Production Engineer who is passionate about delivering an exceptional secure and sustainable technology recycling service.

Key duties/responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and operation of shredding and granulation plant.

  • Ensure that machinery and equipment are operating at peak performance.

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve equipment or process failures quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime.

  • Participate in root cause analysis for any quality issues or process deviations and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

  • Diagnose faults and carry out hands\-on repairs including blade changes etc

  • Plan and manage maintenance schedules.

  • Assist with sourcing and installation of new equipment when required.

  • Managing projects for new machinery installs.

  • Identify areas for cost\-saving and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.

  • Show commitment to continuous improvement in all areas.

  • Stock management and process tracking of product through the process.

  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practice for tasks associated with the operation.

  • Work to agreed KPIs.

  • Create and maintain risk assessments and ensure these are communicated to the team.

  • Creation and management of PPM for the process.

  • Create accurate documentation and records of input/output data, machine downtimes, receipt of materials, start up and shutdown procedures.

  • Collaborate with external suppliers, contractors, and service providers for equipment procurement, installation, and maintenance.

  • Provide technical training and support to Operatives to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.

  • Collaborate across the business where necessary to achieve the best outcomes.

  • Adhering to all H\&S guidelines, attend H\&S meetings, support the H\&S Manager when and if required with onsite testing.

  • Ensure that general housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
Skills required:
  • Experience of operating medium sized production machinery.

  • Ability to use hand tools such as spanners, socket sets, screw drivers etc.

  • Ability to undertake and assist in the basic servicing of machinery.

  • Good knowledge of health and safety as it applies to a production environment and the wider business and how to deal with incidents as they happen.

  • Experience in producing SOPs and risk assessments.

  • Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent.

  • Experience in a similar role.
