We’re looking for an experienced and hands on Procurement \& Materials Manager to lead our Purchasing and Materials (Stores) functions, ensuring the smooth and cost\-effective flow of materials to support our project based manufacturing and engineering operations.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Operations, you’ll take ownership of end\-to\-end procurement and materials management in this hands on role, leading teams, developing supplier partnerships, reducing costs and ensuring timely supply of materials and parts and embedding best\-practice processes across the business to ensure effective supply of
As a key leadership role with real influence across the business, you’ll be trusted to:
- Lead, engage and drive the Purchasing and Stores teams to achieve operational targets
- Approve purchase orders in line with company procedures
- Implement and manage call\-off orders, pricing agreements, and supplier contracts
- Ensure delivery performance aligns with production schedules
- Drive supplier analysis, development, and long\-term partnerships
- Lead cost\-reduction initiatives through negotiation and process improvement
- Oversee stock analysis, inventory control, and stock valuation
- Manage and report on UK and US stock takes
- Act as a key link between Manufacturing, Engineering, and Procurement
- Set, implement, and continuously improve departmental standards and procedures
- Demonstrated experience purchasing within project based manufacturing, with the agility to adapt procurement strategies to changing requirements, tight timelines, and evolving production needs.
- Proven experience leading and effectively managing teams
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Disciplined, thorough and accurate approach to materials and stock control
- Commercial mindset with a focus on value and efficiency
- Ability to motivate teams and drive performance
- Degree qualified or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Background within an OEM or manufacturing environment preferred
- Annual Bonus scheme
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Death in Service scheme (4 x Salary)
Pay: £58,000\.00\-£68,000\.00 per year
