Joining our established and expanding Nuclear team as a Process Engineer means engaging in a diverse and growing array of UK\-based projects. This role offers the opportunity to participate in multi\-disciplinary projects at various stages of their lifecycle, from client consultancy to delivering comprehensive engineering design solutions. Your responsibilities will include client interaction, preparing bids and proposals, and overseeing project delivery in line with AECOM's standards for quality, safety, and environmental care.

Our established multi\-disciplinary nuclear SQEP team, based across the UK, has been delivering fit\-for\-purpose solutions across the full spectrum of the nuclear sector for over 50 years. We understand that the nuclear sector is unique, with the utmost need for safety and a critical requirement to manage a myriad of potential risks.

We recognise the importance of social value, the need for sustainable delivery, and the responsibility to leave a positive legacy with the communities we engage with. We offer technically excellent delivery and strategic services, working in close collaboration with our clients and partners to shape the future of energy and support the ongoing and planned decommissioning efforts, ensuring our UK nuclear sites are safe for the next generation.

*Here’s what you’ll do:*

Production of key process engineering deliverables as part of a wider multidiscipline team, these include:

  • Process Descriptions,

  • Basis of Design,

  • Process Flow Diagrams,

  • Process \& Instrumentation Diagram,

  • Process \& Instrument Data Sheets \& schedules,

  • Underpinning design calculations,

  • Mass and Enthalpy Balances,

  • Design Justification Reports.
Additional
  • Ensuring that own work meets the necessary legislative, company and projects requirements.

  • Planning and prioritisation of own work in line with the project programme(s).

  • Responsible as a ‘Designer’ under the CDM 2015 regulations.

  • Pragmatic approach to problem solving using engineering knowledge gained from work experience and studies.

  • Communication of design development in project meetings and in written reports.

  • Liaising with other discipline engineers to ensure a fully integrated multidiscipline design.

Qualifications Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?

*Here’s what we’re looking for:*

The successful Engineer will have/be:

  • BSc /BEng Chemical Engineering (Hons).

  • Ideally Associate Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers working towards chartership.

  • 2 years or more post Degree experience working as a Process Engineer.

  • Awareness of the nuclear industry in the UK.

  • Experience working within a regulated and quality assured industry in a design delivery role.

  • Demonstrable evidence of roles where your engineering knowledge is a key attribute.

  • Able to meet the requirements for security clearance in the UK.

  • Full UK driving license.
