Are you an experienced Primary Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Nursery Practitioner or Early Years Educator looking for a rewarding full-time role?

We are working with a specialist autism school seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a primary-aged class. Pupils follow a broad primary curriculum and work towards academic targets, including SATs, but benefit from additional support to help them manage anxiety, communication differences, sensory needs, and emotional regulation.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils to access learning across the primary curriculum

  • Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and activities

  • Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and independence

  • Supporting children to recognise and manage their emotions when they become overwhelmed

  • Encouraging positive social interactions and communication skills

  • Assisting pupils in achieving their academic potential in a supportive specialist setting

We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children in a primary school, nursery, preschool, or educational setting

  • A patient, calm, and nurturing approach

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Confidence supporting children with additional needs or SEND

  • A genuine passion for helping children achieve both academically and emotionally

  • Education or Psychology Graduate with school-based experience

This specialist setting supports autistic pupils who are capable learners but require additional support to regulate emotions, manage change, build relationships, and fully engage in education. With small class sizes and a highly supportive team, the school provides an environment where pupils can thrive both academically and personally.

This is a full-time, ongoing position (Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm) and would suit someone looking to build a long-term career within SEN education.
