Phlebotomist/Health Care Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Phlebotomist/Health Care Assistant to join our pharmacy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples, assisting with patient care, and supporting with dispensary activities within the pharmacy. Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples using aseptic techniques, ensuring patient safety and comfort


• Maintain accurate records of specimens collected and patient information


• Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques


• Provide compassionate care to patients across all age groups


• Educate patients about procedures and address any concerns or questions they may have


• Assist with general dispensary tasks within the pharmacy in between appointments

Qualifications

• Experience, preferably within a clinical or laboratory environment


• Certification or training in phlebotomy recognised by relevant health authorities


• Experience with aseptic techniques and infection control procedures


• Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills


• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team


• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and patient needs


• Experience of working within a pharmacy dispensary is desireable.

This role will mainly require to take blood samples but also will be required to support with dispensary activities within the pharmacy in between appointments. This is a part time zero hour contract role.

Pay: From £12\.71 per hour

Licence/Certification:

• Phlebotomy Certificate (preferred)
