Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Full\-time, permanent
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Pharmacy Manager to join our forward‑thinking General Practice team. This role is ideal for a pharmacist who is passionate about improving medicines optimisation across primary care and delivering high\-quality patient services.
The successful candidate will oversee pharmacy services, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and drive improvements in prescribing, medication safety, and patient outcomes. You will also lead and mentor our pharmacy technicians, and Pharmacist trainees, ensuring high‑quality, safe, and efficient medicines management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical leadership: Provide expert advice to GPs on prescribing queries, medication reviews, formulary guidance, and complex patient cases.
- Team supervision: Line\-manage and support pharmacy technicians and trainee Pharmacists, ensuring effective workflow, training, and professional development.
- Medicines optimisation: Lead on audits, repeat prescribing systems, high‑risk drug monitoring, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Patient\-facing support: Conduct structured medication reviews, support long‑term condition management, and provide patient education where appropriate.
- Policy \& governance: Ensure compliance with local and national prescribing guidance, contribute to clinical governance meetings, and support CQC readiness.
- Collaboration: Work closely with PCN pharmacists, community pharmacy colleagues, and ICB medicines management teams.
- Registered Pharmacist with the GPhC
- Independent Prescriber qualification
- Experience in Primary Care, PCN, or a clinical pharmacy setting
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising or mentoring staff
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities
