Do you enjoy meeting people, giving great advice and turning enquiries into sales? Merchant House is looking for a friendly, confident Retail Assistant to help customers explore our range, choose the right products and place their orders with confidence.

What you'll be doing

Welcome customers and understand what they are looking for.

Explain our products, options and pricing, recommending the right solution for each customer's needs and budget.

Prepare accurate quotes, process orders and follow up enquiries and appointments.

Keep the showroom, displays and samples clean, tidy and beautifully presented.

Respond to phone and email enquiries promptly and professionally.

Support the Showroom Manager and help build relationships that bring customers back.

What we're looking for

A warm, approachable personality and a genuine enjoyment of helping people.

A positive, sales\-focused attitude — you'll be comfortable asking for the order.

Excellent communication, listening and organisational skills.

Reliability, initiative, smart presentation and a professional attitude.

Confidence using computers for quotations, orders and email.

Availability to work full days every Wednesday and Saturday, with some flexibility for holiday and sickness cover.

Experience

Retail, showroom or customer\-facing sales experience would be helpful, but it is not essential. Knowledge of kitchens, worktops, granite or home\-improvement products would be an advantage. Full product training will be provided.

Pay: £12\.71\-£13\.50 per hour
