This post is to cover 2 hours per day Monday to Friday. This will not be before 2\.30pm and is likely to be tea time or later depending on activities and will include ensuring the client is compliant with medication. There are 4 flexible hours to cover alternate weekends if the client wishes to utilise them, hours to be mutually agreed with the client for social activities.

To work with a 36\-year\-old female who sustained a brain injury and other injuries in a road traffic accident in 2007\.

T has difficulties with higher level cognitive functions (processing, decision making, multi\-tasking, problem solving, memory etc). She experiences high levels of fatigue and would benefit from support to manage the structure of her days and to engage in social \& leisure activities outside of the home. She also needs assistance to manage the home and admin/planning. She may need assistance to attend appointments.

She experiences high levels of anxiety, especially in community settings. T is mildly dysarthric and occasionally has difficulty making herself understood because of this. She requires support to begin reintroducing structure and purposeful activity, having become increasingly socially isolated and somewhat avoidant of community situations. T does not require assistance with personal care. T is experiencing some mobility issues at the moment due to some health issues and does use a wheelchair in the community if needed.

T owns a small dog and support staff assist in caring for her including taking her for walks, feeding etc

In addition to her brain injury, T has mental health difficulties characterised by episodes during which she experiences paranoid ideation and/or auditory hallucinations so medication compliance is important.

Suitable candidates will:

Have relevant experience in health/social care/mentoring type roles preferably in brain injury/mental health

Preferably be studying/have studied Psychology at degree level

Be car owner/drivers and willing to transport the client in the community

Be confident, outgoing and active, with good motivational and communication skills

Be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check

Be willing to work with the client on a 1:1 basis, in either the client’s home or community settings

The successful candidates will receive ongoing training and supervision from members of the multi\-disciplinary team: brain injury case manager, consultant neuropsychologist and neuro occupational therapist. T does not require assistance with personal care. She owns her own home and does require some support with meal preparation and full assistance with household tasks including very light cleaning and laundry.

Hands on client work is paid at £16 hour. Admin, meetings and training is paid at £13 hour.
