The Federation of Hanbury's Farm and Oakhill Primary Schools and Early Years Provision currently educates approximately 350 children age 2 to 11, across 2 small schools. Both schools are one form entry primary schools with a short distance between them.

The Governors and Executive Headteacher at the Federation of Hanbury’s Farm and Oakhill Primary Schools are seeking to appoint a supportive and empathetic Part Time Family Support Worker to work directly with families and children within the schools and the community in order to promote, strengthen and develop the potential of parents/carers and children. The role will include liasing and developing strong relationships with the families you are supporting, whilst also progressing in developing links with the wider community.

Both schools are dedicated to providing a positive, safe, inspiring and inclusive environment to allow our children to grow and develop. We believe our schools are an integral part of our communities.

*This position will be based across both Hanbury's Farm and Oakhill Primary Schools*.

We are looking for an individual with the following skills and experience;

  • To give targeted individual support to families and carers

  • Resilient with emotional intelligence and an understanding of family dynamics and child development.

  • To work as part of the pastoral team to deliver provision around focused family support

  • Experience of positive parenting skills and direct work with young people.

  • Experience of engaging and working with families facing challenges.

  • Experience of working with other educational providers to support effective transition for vulnerable children and families.

  • Experience of liaising with relevant agencies to improve swift and easy access to statutory and voluntary services.

The role is term time only, part time, fixed term position initially until 31st March 2026 (to be reviewed after this time).

Monday to Friday 15 hours per week, 38 weeks plus 5 inset days (39 working weeks)

Grade 5, SCP 7 \- 9

Actual annual salary £9,248 \- £9546 (pay award pending)

Start date required as soon as possible
