We are a Greater Manchester based Service, Repair and Construction firm, that specialises in delivering multi\-faceted projects. Our services range from basic welding to multi\-million\-pound anaerobic digestion facilities. We’re trusted partners for domestic and international projects.

We are seeking an experienced and detail\-oriented Part\-Time Accounts Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for a qualified finance professional looking to contribute strategically and operationally, while enjoying the flexibility of part\-time working hours. You will play a key role in managing the company’s finances, ensuring robust financial control, and supporting the leadership team with insightful reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day\-to\-day financial operations, including bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management

  • Develop budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor performance against them

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes

  • Ensure compliance with tax, payroll, and other regulatory requirements

  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and HMRC as required

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision\-making

  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and processes

  • Support with grant applications, funding rounds, or investor reporting if applicable

  • Managing CIS and VAT processes, including record keeping, reconciliations, and return preparation.
Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent desirable)

  • Proven experience in a similar finance role (SME or startup experience is a plus)

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Pay: £15\.00\-£20\.00 per hour
