Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Operations Manager.
This role is vital in ensuring efficient management of production, staff supervision, and retail activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organizational skills, and a passion for maintaining high standards of quality and service. As Operations Manager, you will drive operational excellence while fostering a positive work environment that reflects our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Health \& Safety – Responsible to drive and develop a safety\-first culture within the department, ensuring that all processes are being monitored for safety compliance. Continually assess risks to prevent accidents, ensuring all Safety Action Reports and Accident Reports are accurately completed and submitted to the Health and Safety Department promptly to reduce risks throughout the business.
Food Safety \& Quality Ownership \- Own food safety and quality execution within the production environment. Maintaining high standards \& adherence in in\-shift hygiene standards, HACCP, quality culture. Partner with technical to investigate and implement corrective actions.
Operational Excellence \& Production Delivery \- Responsible for delivering the daily production plan safely, efficiently and to specification. Ensuring process adherence across the department and drive right first\-time production.
Increasing Manufacturing Process Efficiencies \- Through continuous improvement programmes to improve manufacturing process, people \& equipment utilisation (5s, SMED, 5 Why etc.) ensuring tight headcount controls and tight budget controls improve overall departmental efficiencies. Ensure all documentation in regard to performance are completed daily.
Management \& Leadership \-To lead by example in encouraging appropriate behavioural standards in support of the company’s values and culture, coaching teams in the implementation and training of the company’s systems and procedures, to create a culture in which employees can achieve their full potential.
Training \& Development – Ensure continued training and development of employees including supervisory / Management team. Engage with succession planning to identify future leaders and managers and ensure the future of staff development reflects the growth of the company through training, coaching, and mentoring as well as individuals.
Employee Relations\- Work closely with HR in managing absence and performance of all individuals in your teams. Engage with employees through clear communication and be open to suggestions, providing feedback from all areas of the business.
Operations Compliance – Ensure all legislative and customer specific standards are achieved ensuring compliance with Food Safety, Health \& Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems. Ensure all materials are used in accordance with the specified recipes and all documentation is completed and adhered to all times. Highlight potential issues for resolution in a timely manner.
Budgetary Controls – Manage operational expenditure within agreed budgets to ensure optimum operating costs are achieved and continually look for ways to reduce costs within production process.
Communication – Ensure regular communications are performed with the production teams and regular employee feedback encouraged, create a culture with a ‘can do’ attitude and positively encourage development of the employees.
Projects – Ensure that all improvement projects and launches are fully supported and managed through to completion, ensuring appropriate liaisons with other departmental managers and groups to ensure success.
