JS Fun Event Hire is looking for an experienced, hands\-on Operations Manager to lead our daily operations.
Established in 2007, we supply interactive games for corporate events, exhibitions, brand activations and celebrations across the UK. Our equipment ranges from branded prize claw machines to reaction games, sports games and arcade machines.
Reporting directly to the owner and working closely with our Office Manager, you will take responsibility for staffing, logistics, warehouse readiness and event delivery.
This is a hands\-on management role. Alongside planning and supervising, you will regularly carry out practical tasks yourself, including equipment preparation, loading, driving, installation and collection. You must be comfortable leading the team and working alongside them, while keeping upcoming bookings organised.
You will have the authority to make everyday operational decisions within agreed budgets.
What you’ll do
- Plan and carry out deliveries, installations and collections across London and the UK.
- Allocate drivers, event crew, vehicles and equipment across simultaneous bookings.
- Manage rotas, cover, recruitment, training and team performance.
- Prepare, clean, test and check equipment, ensuring it is complete and ready before dispatch.
- Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment and safe working methods.
- Coordinate warehouse preparation, maintenance and custom branding, helping with practical tasks as required.
- Confirm venue access, timings and installation requirements.
- Provide clear crew briefs and lead teams on site.
- Set up games, demonstrate their operation and complete client handovers.
- Control labour, overtime and transport costs within agreed budgets.
- Resolve operational problems and keep clients and colleagues informed.
- Maintain accurate booking and staffing records.
- Improve checklists, processes and working practices.
You will have experience managing operations in event hire, event production, equipment rental, logistics or a similar practical environment.
You should bring:
- Experience leading drivers, warehouse staff or event crews.
- Practical experience with equipment preparation, loading, deliveries or installations.
- Strong planning skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to balance hands\-on work with organising several time\-sensitive jobs.
- Confidence making decisions and following problems through to resolution.
- Clear communication with clients, venues and colleagues.
- Commercial awareness and experience controlling operational costs.
- Confidence using booking, scheduling and workforce systems.
- A willingness to lead by example and work alongside your team.
Working hours and location
40 hours per week over five days, with early, mid and late shifts scheduled around event requirements.
Typical shifts include:
- Early: 06:00–15:00
- Mid: 09:00–18:00
- Late: 13:00–22:00
The role is primarily based at our East London depot, with travel to event sites across London and the UK.
