Job Summary

As an Operational Support Team Member, you will play a vital role in ensuring equipment is properly maintained, stored, and available when needed. You will help ensure that events and activities across your community network are well\-resourced, enabling St John volunteers to deliver services effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to carry out stock checks in line with approved levels.

  • Conduct equipment checks and support safe storage, deployment, and fault reporting.

  • Assist with vehicle checks and movement.

  • Support the movement and distribution of equipment and resources.

  • Help set up, deploy, and restock equipment for events.

  • Participate in the Operational Support national community of practice, sharing knowledge and best practices.

  • Promote sustainable and ethical practices in line with St John’s environmental and financial commitments.
Person Specification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.

  • Good data and numerical skills to support stock management.

  • Intermediate ability in Microsoft applications and other IT systems.

  • Open to both drivers and non\-drivers.
Training and Support

You will receive:

  • A welcome and induction programme introducing you to the Network and wider organisation.

  • Training on relevant St John Ambulance policies and procedures, including safe equipment storage.

  • Role\-specific safeguarding training.

  • Moving and Handling training, including use of sack and pallet trucks.

  • Training on ProCloud systems.

  • A 3\-hour Essential First Aid course.

  • Enhanced Child and Adult Workforce DBS

  • Two references
