Summary
St Wilfrid's Nursery is a private Nursery catering for pre\-school children aged 2\-4\. We are a friendly, successful Nursery which has close ties to the school. We are located in the town of Longridge in the Ribble Valley. We are looking to appoint a new Nursery Assistant to join our friendly team. Whilst ideally, we are looking for a qualified Level 3 practitioner, we would be prepared to look at someone unqualified who is committed to obtaining a L3 childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification. Nursery would allow the successful candidate, release time if needed, to obtain their qualification.
The successful candidate will be paid at a rate of £13 per hour. Hours will be initially 35 hours per week on a variable permanent contract. Your contract hours are variable between 15 \- 35 hours per week and this will be reviewed on a termly basis dependent on number of children registered with St Wilfrids Nursery.
Your salary will be paid monthly by BACS net of deductions (and any other sums which you have agreed in writing will be deducted from your salary) on the 28th of every month.
NB From 01/09/26 you will be working 35 hours per week to be reviewed on a termly basis. Your rate of pay will be £13\.00 per hour.
For pay purposes your hourly rate will be £13\.00 (current) per hour x 35 x 43\.6/12mths
£1,653\.17 per month.
This represents a working year of 38 weeks during term time plus 5\.6 weeks (pro rata) annual leave including Bank Holidays. For any additional hours worked payment is made and is based on your normal hourly rate.
HOLIDAYS \- There is an entitlement to 5\.6 weeks paid annual leave including Bank Holidays, which is incorporated into the salary formula as shown above. As St Wilfrids Nursery is only open during term time, you will be expected to take your annual leave during periods of closure of the Nursery (ie during school holidays).
Interested candidates should write a CV/letter of application to the Nursery Director, Mr John McHugh, stating their qualifications and experience as well as outlining their personal qualities and why they think they would be a successful Nursery Assistant. Please email your application CV/letter to head@longridge\-st\-wilfrids.lancs.sch.uk
