As a Next Steps Support Officer, you'll support some of our most vulnerable customers, people experiencing homelessness, poor mental health, addiction, offending histories and other complex challenges. Every day is different, and while the role can be demanding, it is also incredibly rewarding.
You'll be responsible for a caseload of around 10 customers, providing intensive, person centred support to help them sustain accommodation, improve their wellbeing and move towards independent living.
What you'll be doing
Working as part of our Community Impact team, you'll:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 10 customers with complex and multiple support needs.
- Build trusted relationships through a trauma informed, strengths based approach.
- Complete housing, support and risk assessments, creating tailored support plans.
- Work alongside mental health services, probation, social care, health professionals and voluntary organisations to coordinate support.
- Help customers access benefits, manage finances and overcome barriers to independent living.
- Support customers to move into and sustain long term accommodation.
- Advocate for customers and represent them at multi agency meetings.
- Maintain accurate records while balancing competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
This role isn't for everyone.
We're looking for someone who is resilient, compassionate and able to remain calm under pressure. You'll be confident working with people experiencing crisis, able to set professional boundaries and committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for customers.
You'll have experience managing complex cases and building positive relationships with customers and partner agencies.
