Job summary:
The Psychological Medicine Service is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 7 CBT Therapist with BABCP accreditation. The role sits primarily within the Stockport locality of this Trust wide service and will involve working closely with physical health colleagues to form part of an integrated psychological and physical health MDT.
To provide a CBT Service in the field of Psychological medicine as a member of the psychological and physical health multidisciplinary team.
To organise and deliver Clinics at Health Centres and Hospital.
To provide a lead role in promoting Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as a specialist treatment within physical health Services.
To contribute to the development of treatment initiatives within the Psychological Medicine Service.
To work with professional colleagues in the Psychological Medicine Service towards delivery of a quality service, to meet government objectives and fulfill objectives of best practice according to CBT Research and Guidelines.
To exercise autonomous, professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients whose problems are managed by psychologically based Standard Care Plans.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide CBT based assessment, formulation and treatment for people experiencing a moderate to severe common mental health problem. This includes opportunities for group based intervention in addition to 1\-1 client facing work. There are options for a combination of remote and office based working.
The successful candidate will provide CBT to clients referred into the service who are deemed appropriate for CBT intervention. This includes undertaking and managing a clinical caseload, in accordance with the Trust’s operational policy and recommendations within the NHS Talking Therapies Manual. This includes working towards national standard service targets which are monitored by the ICB and Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership.
The successful candidate will be expected to attend monthly clinical supervision to develop knowledge, skills, promote access clinical excellence and ensure safe therapeutic practice.
High levels of clinical governance are expected including all documentation as required by the service and the successful candidate will work closely with their Line Manager, Senior CBT Therapist, and Clinical Lead.
The service encourages and promotes staff development. Members of staff are encouraged to participate in the delivery of clinical supervision and/or training to colleagues and partnership organisations. This may include further training in varying therapeutic modalities, and/or specialist areas and various champion roles.
Members of staff are offered 5 CPD days pro rata by the Trust and the service also offers monthly CPD events.
