Business Development Manager – New Business \= Signs \& Vehicle Graphics

Basic Salary: £25,000 per annum
Commission: £100 per qualifying new job won
Commission: Paid monthly
Quarterly Performance Bonuses: Available
Earning Potential: Uncapped

The role is designed for an individual who is motivated by winning new business. The more new customers and jobs you win, the more you earn.

The Role

We are looking for a driven, ambitious and commercially focused Business Development Manager to join our team and take responsibility for generating and winning new business across our signage and vehicle graphics services.

This is a pure new\-business sales role.

Your primary responsibility is to identify potential customers, make contact with decision\-makers, generate opportunities, secure meetings, win the work and then hand the customer over to our Account Management team.

Once the customer has been successfully won and handed over, your responsibility is to move on and find the next opportunity.

The role is therefore focused on continually building a pipeline of new prospects and converting them into new customers.

The Sales Process

Prospect → Contact → Meeting → Quote → Win → Handover → Repeat

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and research new business prospects.

  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of potential customers.

  • Make proactive outbound calls to businesses and decision\-makers.

  • Use telephone, email, LinkedIn and face\-to\-face prospecting to generate opportunities.

  • Arrange meetings and site visits with prospective customers.

  • Develop relationships with business owners, directors and key decision\-makers.

  • Identify opportunities for vehicle graphics, vehicle wraps, fleet branding and signage.

  • Work with the internal design and estimating teams to develop quotations and proposals.

  • Follow up quotations and opportunities consistently.

  • Negotiate and close new business.

  • Achieve agreed monthly and quarterly new\-business targets.

  • Maintain accurate records of all activity and opportunities within the CRM.

  • Ensure a professional handover of newly won customers to the Account Management team.

  • Immediately return to prospecting once a customer has been handed over.
Services

The BDM will be responsible for generating new business across services including:

  • Vehicle graphics

  • Full vehicle wraps

  • Fleet graphics and fleet branding

  • Commercial signage

  • Building signage

  • Shopfront signage

  • Internal and external signage

  • Wayfinding and directional signage

  • Corporate branding

  • Printed graphics

  • Bespoke commercial branding solutions
Commission Structure£100 Per New Job Won

The BDM will receive £100 commission for every qualifying new job won.

Qualifying Job

To qualify for commission:

  • The job must have a minimum value of £1,000 \+ VAT.

  • The customer must be a new business account.

  • The opportunity must have been generated and won by the BDM.

  • Existing customers and repeat orders do not qualify.

  • Commission is payable once the customer's qualifying order has been completed and payment has been received.

  • Once the customer has been won, the account is transferred to an Account Manager.
There is no cap on commission.

The key performance measures will be:

  • Number of new customers won

  • Number of qualifying jobs won

  • New\-business turnover

  • Number of meetings generated

  • Number of new opportunities created

  • Conversion of opportunities into sales

  • Pipeline value

  • Outbound sales activity

  • CRM activity and follow\-up
What We're Looking For

We are looking for a genuine new\-business hunter who will make 60\-100 calls per day

You will be confident picking up the phone, speaking to businesses that have never dealt with us before and creating opportunities from scratch.

You should be:

  • Highly motivated and target driven.

  • Confident making cold calls.

  • Commercially minded.

  • Persistent and resilient.

  • Comfortable speaking with business owners and senior decision\-makers.

  • A strong communicator and negotiator.

  • Organised and disciplined.

  • Competitive and motivated by commission.

  • Able to manage your own pipeline.

  • Focused on closing business rather than simply generating leads.

  • Comfortable working to monthly and quarterly targets.
Previous experience in signage, vehicle graphics, printing, branding, fleet, construction, facilities management or a related industry would be advantageous, but proven B2B new\-business sales ability is more important.

The Mindset

This is not an Account Management role.

You will not be responsible for looking after a portfolio of existing customers.

You will not be measured on how well you maintain existing accounts.

Your job is to win new business.

Once you win a customer, our Account Management team takes over the relationship and your focus immediately returns to finding the next customer.

Find it. Win it. Hand it over. Go again.

If you are motivated by targets, enjoy winning new business and want your earning potential to be directly linked to your performance, this is an opportunity to build a significant income while playing a key role in the growth of the business.
