Job Summary

This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence across the division.

The Head Of Operations will work closely with the Executive Partner and Divisional Board to lead on strategic operations, workforce leadership, change management, governance, and financial oversight.

This role is pivotal in ensuring our business governance, HR processes, IT infrastructure, and service delivery models are robust, scalable, and aligned with NHS best practices.

You will be the key driver in ensuring that operational and business functions run seamlessly, optimising efficiency while maintaining high patient care standards and staff satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

✅ Leading day\-to\-day operations and supporting effective patient service delivery
✅ Providing leadership to Patient Service Managers and wider administrative teams
✅ Inspiring, mentoring and developing a workforce of over 120 staff
✅ Driving service redesign, digital transformation and workflow improvement
✅ Overseeing workforce planning, budgets, governance, risk and regulatory compliance
✅ Supporting performance against CQC standards, QOF and Local Commissioned Services
✅ Identifying business growth opportunities and additional income streams
✅ Championing patient engagement and continuous service improvement

Applicant QualificationsEssential Experience

✅ Proven senior leadership experience within healthcare operations, primary care, NHS services, business management, or a similar complex operational environment

✅ Experience managing multi\-site operations and large multidisciplinary teams

✅ Demonstrable experience leading organisational change, service transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives

✅ Experience in workforce planning, employee engagement, performance management, and organisational development

✅ Strong understanding of governance, compliance, risk management, and quality assurance frameworks

✅ Experience managing budgets, financial performance, and operational reporting

✅ Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at Executive, Board, and Partnership level

Desirable Qualifications \& Experience

⭐ Experience working within NHS Primary Care, GP Practices, Primary Care Networks (PCNs), Integrated Care Systems (ICS), or Community Healthcare Services

⭐ Knowledge of CQC regulations, QOF, Local Commissioned Services (LCS), and NHS contractual frameworks

⭐ Formal management qualifications or equivalent experience

⭐ Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent

⭐ Experience leading digital transformation and technology\-enabled service improvements

⭐ Knowledge of AI\-driven healthcare technologies and patient engagement systems

The ideal candidate will bring proven senior leadership experience in healthcare operations, business management, HR, IT, governance or a related field. Strong financial acumen, stakeholder management, change leadership and experience managing complex teams are essential. Knowledge of NHS guidelines and primary care operations would be highly beneficial.
