About SODA Group

SODA Group is an award\-winning interior design and fit\-out company specialising in creating exceptional commercial spaces.

We’re a growing, ambitious and hugely people\-focused business. We take pride in the projects we deliver, but just as importantly, we take pride in the people behind them. Our culture is a big part of who we are, and we’re looking for someone who wants to become a genuine part of the SODA team.

The Role

We’re looking for a reliable, experienced and hands\-on Multi\-Skilled Engineer to join our growing team.

This is a varied role for someone who enjoys problem\-solving, isn’t afraid to get stuck in and can confidently turn their hand to a range of maintenance, remedial and general building works.

We’re particularly interested in someone with good plumbing knowledge and experience, alongside a broader range of practical maintenance and building skills.

No two days are likely to be the same. One day you could be attending a reactive maintenance job, the next completing snagging works or supporting one of our project teams with small works and alterations.

Location \& Travel

This is a mobile role and regular travel is an essential part of the position.

Our head office is based in Wakefield, with our projects and clients covering areas including Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. The successful candidate will therefore need to be comfortable travelling to different sites across these areas as required.

Depending on the location and requirements of a job, some early starts and longer travel days may be necessary. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety and is happy working across different locations rather than being based at one site every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and remedial works across commercial sites.

  • Undertaking basic plumbing works, including identifying and repairing leaks, replacing taps and fittings, investigating faults and completing minor pipework repairs.

  • Diagnosing issues on site and finding practical, effective solutions.

  • Completing basic joinery, patch repairs, decorating and other general building works where required.

  • Attending reactive maintenance call\-outs and completing repairs efficiently.

  • Carrying out snagging and defect works following project completion.

  • Supporting project teams with small works and alterations.

  • Identifying when additional works, specialist trades or materials may be required.

  • Travelling to client and project sites across Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire as required.

  • Communicating clearly with the Operations team regarding progress, materials and any issues identified on site.

  • Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

  • Looking after company tools, equipment and vehicles where provided.

  • Maintaining a clean, safe and professional working environment.

  • Representing SODA professionally when working within client premises.

  • Supporting the wider SODA team when required.
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is genuinely multi\-skilled and comfortable taking on a variety of tasks rather than specialising in just one area.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Previous experience in a multi\-skilled maintenance, facilities, construction or similar role.

  • Good practical plumbing knowledge and experience.

  • Strong general building and maintenance skills.

  • The confidence to diagnose faults and solve problems independently.

  • A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail.

  • A proactive attitude and willingness to turn your hand to different tasks.

  • Good communication and customer\-facing skills.

  • The ability to manage your own workload when working independently.

  • A good understanding of health and safety when working on site.

  • A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel regularly across Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

  • Relevant trade qualifications would be beneficial, although practical experience is equally important to us.
The Person

For us, attitude and personality are just as important as technical ability.

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, adaptable and takes genuine pride in their work. Our projects and maintenance requirements can be fast\-paced, so you’ll need to be comfortable thinking on your feet and finding solutions rather than simply identifying problems.

You’ll also need to enjoy being part of a team. We’re proud of the culture we’ve created at SODA and want someone who will get involved, support their colleagues and become part of the wider business.

Why Join SODA?

We believe the people behind our projects are what make SODA successful, so we’ve worked hard to create a culture where people feel valued, recognised and enjoy being part of the team.

As part of SODA, you’ll benefit from:

  • Christmas shutdown – giving everyone the opportunity to properly switch off and enjoy the festive period.

  • Your birthday off – an additional day’s annual leave so you don’t have to spend your birthday at work.

  • Regular team\-building activities – bringing everyone together through activities, team events and social nights throughout the year.

  • Annual company conference – a chance for the whole SODA team to get together, celebrate our successes and have some fun.

  • A genuinely people\-focused culture – where great work is recognised and everyone’s contribution matters.

  • A varied working environment – working across different commercial projects and locations, where no two days are quite the same.
We’re growing quickly, but we’re equally passionate about protecting the culture, team spirit and sense of togetherness that have helped us get here.

If you’re a practical problem\-solver, take pride in doing a job properly and want a role that offers plenty of variety while being part of a growing team, we’d love to hear from you.
