Material Scheduler
Job Purpose:
Responsible for maintaining supplier schedules and processing requisitions where required. Using SAP or other data to maintain stock to an agreed level. Expediting shortages or escalating supplier issues to the Purchasing team where appropriate. Transacting import/export documentation where required.
Key Areas of Responsibility, Duties and Deliverables Expected:
Responsibilities:
- Receipt and action internal planning and forecast data.
- Scheduling raw materials for production use.
- General consumable purchasing, including maintaining stock levels and usage reporting.
- Liaising with other members of Planning, Logistics and Operations to help formulate a weekly production plan for all production areas, taking into account all material availability, capacity, constraints and stock holdings.
- Being aware of general production and technical constraints at all times.
- Maintaining accurate SAP records for all schedule requirements.
- Promoting and improving the usage of the SAP system wherever applicable.
- Monitoring specific raw material and bought out part levels against customer requirements and predetermined inventory policies, with the aim of keeping the overall stock value to a minimum whilst ensuring sufficient stock is always available to meet production demands.
- Maintaining an accurate, logical and comprehensive filing system for all correspondence and additional data.
- Being aware of all other activities currently being progressed within the department and being in a position to cover the responsibilities of colleagues in their absence if required.
- Behave in a courteous, respectful and professional manner towards members of staff, managers and customers.
- Encourage good communication and working relationships across the business.
- Share job knowledge and skills and support other team members with their workload.
- Keep your Manager informed of any issues and take a proactive approach to problem solving.

- Buying/Purchasing experience.
- Experience using MRP/ERP systems such as SAP.
- Set a good example of safe behaviour, particularly to new entrants and young persons.
- Work in a safe manner and observe site Health and Safety rules and procedures.
- Do not misuse or interfere with anything provided to ensure the Health and Safety of themselves and others.
- Correctly use the protective clothing and equipment provided.
- Report any safety concerns promptly to their Supervisor and take action to prevent injury if it is safe to do so.
- Report all injuries that occur at work and obtain the necessary first aid treatment.
- Help in the investigation of accidents to prevent recurrence.
