Job Summary
Clive Cowern Transport Ltd is looking to recruit a proactive and organised Transport Planner / Co\-ordinator to join our busy operations team based in Bridgnorth.
This is a key role within the business, supporting the day\-to\-day management of transport operations, including job entry, customer quotations, route planning and vehicle utilisation. The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring we continue to deliver excellent service to our customers while maintaining efficient and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily transport operations, including route planning, vehicle allocation and driver utilisation.
- Enter customer jobs accurately into the Transport Management System (TMS).
- Produce customer quotations and respond to transport enquiries.
- Ensure collections and deliveries are planned efficiently and completed within agreed timescales.
- Monitor vehicle movements and respond quickly to operational issues as they arise.
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, drivers and internal departments.
- Communicate effectively with drivers regarding routes, schedules and operational changes.
- Maintain accurate operational records and update transport systems in real time.
- Ensure compliance with drivers' hours regulations, Working Time Directive requirements and company procedures.
- Support the wider transport team with problem\-solving and day\-to\-day operational challenges.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through excellent service and communication.
- Previous experience in a transport planning, transport co\-ordination or logistics role is preferred.
- Good understanding of UK transport operations and logistics.
- Strong IT skills, including experience using transport management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload and perform effectively in a fast\-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with a professional and customer\-focused approach.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
