Salary: £32,000 – £40,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join our busy engineering and maintenance team. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will work alongside experienced multi\-skilled engineers to maintain, repair, and optimize high\-speed processing and packaging machinery. This is a hands\-on role offering long\-term stability and career progression within a fast\-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Reactive \& Planned Maintenance: Assist with breakdowns and routine PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) to minimise plant downtime.


• Continuous Improvement: Help identify machinery faults and support projects to improve production efficiency.


• Compliance: Ensure all engineering tasks strictly adhere to site health, safety, and food hygiene regulations (e.g., GMP, HACCP).


• Equipment: Work with conveyors, packaging machines, and automated processing lines.

Desirable Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent BTEC or completed apprenticeship) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant Engineering degree

• Previous hands\-on experience within manufacturing environment


• Food manufacturing, packaging or FMCG experience highly preferred


• Experience within electrical and/or mechanical disciplines preferred, training and upskilling can be provided

• A positive and proactive attitude


• Good practical and problem\-solving skills


• Reliable and hardworking


• Able to work independently and as part of a team


• Willingness to learn and develop multi\-skilled engineering capabilities
