Locum Consultant Urological Surgeon
A new and exciting opportunity is advertised for a robotically trained Urology NHS Locum Consultant to join our Urology team.
The successful applicant will join a team of 7 full time consultant urological surgeons, replacing a substantive sixth post, based at Northampton General Hospital delivering high quality elective and emergency urological services to the catchment area.
The Trust has just purchased a da Vinci Xi robot system from Intuitive. Urology will be the lead specialty and will perform \>100 prostatectomies a year for Northamptonshire. The successful candidate should be proficient in robot\-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy and should have an interest and surgical skills to complement a varied and busy urology department. Upper tract laparoscopic and open upper tract surgery experience is desirable to support a growing demand and need for continued development. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to continue the development and expansion of these services. There will be training opportunities, as well as mentoring, according to the successful candidate’s needs for ongoing professional development.
DUTIES \& RESPONSIBILITIES
To fully participate of elective and emergency urological service (this includes management of common paediatric inguino\-scrotal conditions)
To provide highest possible levels of patient care
To work as an active member of the Urology team
To actively remain clinically competent
To work closely with Multidisciplinary teams
To activate particulate and undertake audit
To teach staff/Medical Students
To work to all Trust Policies and procedures
To work flexible
