To be successful in this Learning Disability Support Worker role, you must have:
At least 12 months’ experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
- PMVA training
- Strong de\-escalation and behaviour management skills.
- Experience promoting independent living skills such as routines and nutrition.
- Confidence using digital care planning systems for accurate record keeping.
- A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Eligibility to work in the UK (Right to Work documentation required)
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health \& Social Care (Children \& Young People or Adults).
- First Aid training or equivalent.
Your Responsibilities as a Community Support Worker
As a Support Worker specialising in learning disabilities and complex needs, your key duties will include:
- Providing consistent, person\-centred support to young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in their homes and local community.
- Planning and facilitating engaging, structured activities to build independence and social confidence.
- Supporting with daily living skills including meal planning, shopping, dietary needs and personal routines.
- Applying PMVA techniques and de\-escalation strategies to safely manage challenging behaviours.
- Maintaining accurate and professional digital care notes, risk assessments, and incident reports.
- Collaborating with families, carers, and multi\-disciplinary teams (MDTs) to ensure positive outcomes.
- Confidence in using digital care planning systems.
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, resilient and professional attitude.
- A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Adults or Children).
- Current First Aid training.
